 | Work to be Done
|
Guests are most welcome to view or join John as he goes
about the routines and tasks that abound in this farm life of ours. The
views and scents of our large, colourful garden, where we grow 130 roses,
plus many rhododendrons and daffodil, can be enjoyed from within or outside
the house. |
 | Adventure Relaxation
|
The beautiful Purakaunui Falls and the Mclean Falls are close by our
Farmstay and the nearby Catlins River Walk is one that is walked and talked
about by travellers and locals alike. The full distance of this walk takes
about 5 hours but we are pleased to provide transport to points along the
track to access guests who would want to venture shorter distances. A ten
minute drive will take you to Surat Bay where the sea lions may roar a
greeting. The Heart of Catlins holds opportunity for both adventure and
relaxation. |

 | Home Cookies

All meals are home
cooked by Thelma with fresh organic produce from the
garden, and an extensive array of preserves from her pantry. While a yummy
Breakfast is part of your stay, dinners are by prior arrangement. |
 | Local knowledge
|
John has lived in the district all his life so he has a
wealth of knowledge about this area, its shores, times, events and
characters. Over the years we have collected a number of books that can add
to the knowledge of local history...... |
 |
 |
... These are available to you, as guests, during your stay.
We are only too happy to talk to our guests about places you could visit
during your "Heart of Catlins" adventure as we both enjoy meeting people,
sharing our home and the area of New Zealand that we love.
